"The Shape Of Water?"

Hello, down there! Or from "down here". It's been over a year and a half since my last blog post which I think is long enough to declare it legally dead. Thanks for checking back. One of the things I've been pursuing over the last year is my interest in diving. Freediving* in particular. It's something I've always been interested in, and I just recently got some formal training through FFI (Freediving Instructors International). The class culminated with me barely making a descent to 20 meters (about 63 feet for us Yanks), and before that, a static apnea of 3 minutes. Yup, I held my breath for 3 minutes, and have done it again a few times since. It's a really good discipline to learn, and uses some principles which I can apply to other areas of my life, such as art. Here's a possible T-shirt design I came up with for this group with which I have been practicing here in California. (I took my class in West Palm Beach, Florida).
*diving on a single breath without any type of air tanks.

And here's self-shot video of me going down 65 feet in Blue Spring in Orange City, Florida. at that depth, there is a sign with a picture of a "grim reaper" character, warning SCUBA divers to go no further without proper training and equipment for cave diving.
THIS is what the sign is SUPPOSED to look like. You can sort of see it in the video at about 1:55, mostly covered with dirt.  I think you get the idea, though.

And here's video from one of the practice groups on a trip to Pt. Dume near Malibu. You can see me at about the 2:20 mark. The video was shot by a member from St. Johns, Newfoundland.
So thanks for stopping down! I actually have a few completed projects waiting in the wings which I will post in the coming weeks.
